Whenever I make a track, I make a video to go along with it. However, the video is not the same size as required by Spotify for a canvas (short clip for a track). Here’s how I resize my videos for Spotify canvases using Handbrake.
I use FL Studio, and whenever I render a track, I have a 4k video made for it. But they’re never the right size or length for Spotify canvases. Spotify canvases get more views and likes than tracks without them, so it is in my best interest for promotional reasons to upload canvas videos.
I use Handbrake and use these settings to make modifications to my video so I can upload a canvas to Spotify:
- Length: 7 seconds (I’ve tried longer but they do not get accepted by Spotify, so I settled on 7 seconds.)
- Size:
- Incoming video: 3840×2160 (4k UHD) (This is mine, so if yours is different, then change the below items to suit.)
- Output video: 1080×1920 (HD portrait orientation specified by Spotify)
- Cropping: 120 of the top and bottom, 1380 of both sides (centers the video, but change if desired to be offset and change if your incoming image is different sized)
- Video: H264, 60 fps peak, 25 quality
